Replacement Marsh at I-94 & 26 Mile Interchange
This recommendation comes from Russ Emmons, who was kind enough to send along descriptions of several county locations.
At the Northeast corner of the I-94 26 mile interchange just behind the 7-11/Citgo (Lenox Twp.) is a good sized man made replacement marsh. This marsh has only been there a few years, but we have found breeding Mute Swans, Canada Geese, Mallards, Wood Ducks, Spotted Sandpipers to name a few. Also present regularly are Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Green Herons, Kingfishers, Gulls, Terns, Swallows, Harriers, Red Tail Hawks, Blackbirds etc. The Citgo people don't mind a car or two parked at the back to view the marsh!
